What is Drupal ... in 57 seconds from pingVision

What is Drupal? If you are new to this, watch this 1 minute video showing the stuff in Drupal.

We want Microsoft to be FREE!

What I mean is that Microsoft should not just sell Windows for $0.00, I mean to let people take a look at the operating system and do any patches fixes, etc. to the operating system. Ubuntu is open-source and it has had a great success. Mandriva (which I use often), has also had been successful. Up to Windows XP, Windows has been successful. But, when Vista was released, it turned around it's users.

Internet Explorer

Since the mid-1990's, Microsoft was criticized for not letting Windows users remove Internet Explorer without breaking the computer (Yikes!). Only did Windows 7 gave users freedom to use other browsers without breaking the computer. Still, IE has still not improved the underlying rendering engine (Trident).

Windows "Genuine Advantage" (or Disadvantage)

Since the time when Microsoft released Windows Defender, IE 7 and Windows Media Player 11, many people weren't happy about this. Microsoft said that businesses "got hurt" by pirate software, but they have got even more hurt by the WGA. Users of Vista and over will have to validate with Microsoft to use their software.

1 billion downloads? Firefox is more popular than IE!

My 1,000,000,000 thing

1,000,000,000 is equal to 109.

The story

(Source: http://doiop.com/1billionfirefox)
Firefox has had 1,000,000,000 downloads since its inception in 2003. One billion means a lot.

Why MediaWiki is so bad

One of the things I hate about MediaWiki is that you have to use those [[Category:name]] (name is a placeholder of the category's name) links at the bottom of the page. In Drupal, you can enable tagging (makes an AJAX field for tagging; searches for existing tags), multi-select or select from a drop-down list. This could be complicated if you have to categorize/tag the article a lot of things. You couldn't simply copy-paste a comma-separated list into a MediaWiki article, but have to put those category links at the bottom of the article. This can be confusing because MediaWiki also uses the square brackets ([[ and ]]) for both internal links and "inter-wiki" links too. Also, there is no tag cloud extension available for MediaWiki.

Wikipedia breaks policy rules

Wikipedia has long been discussed about their No Original Research (NOR) policy being a violation of their own Neutral Point Of View (NPOV) policy. Recently, a user complained about the "excluding tiny minorities" rule. Personally, I disagree with this complaint because:

  1. Nobody cares about something small like that
  2. The fact that something is excluded now does not mean that it will be excluded forever (from Blueboar)
  3. Some of these "tiny minority" ideas are not true
